Sorry I have not been posting regularly, life had just been very busy lately. I just wanted to share with my followers. My husband and I have started the process of adoption. We have set up a go fund me account if anyone would like to help out. http://link.email.dynect.net/link.php?H=WpfRqTFmqv694QBxhWWqw%2F4KOnHQCEirdHUzekFHPbiYD3GShdnlomgs4hnyHyoBo%2FPqMP3q4IA%2B6iHrnXmYeDaemCzpSD24w%2FFZCwYgEfE%3D&G=21&R=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gofundme.com%2Fo2r3eg&I=20150306191716.02FB910F3248%40mail6-03-pao.dyndns.com&X=MHw3NzY2NjI6VEVNUElEXzQ5OzF8Nzc2NjYzOlFVRVVFSURfMjE2NzExOTc5Ow%3D%3D
Well I have started a twelve week half marathon training plan. If I follow the plan I will finish the week before I run my half marathon. Recap of the week.
Sunday – rest
Monday – 2 miles
Tuesday – rest
Wednesday – 4 miles
Thursday – rest
Friday – 2 miles
Tomorrow – 5 miles
I think tomorrow’s run will be hard because I haven’t run that far in a long time. Oh I got a garmin forerunner for Christmas and I am loving it. Anyone else training for a half?
Well, I have wanted to run a marathon for a very long time. I decided I should start with something a little more manageable. I will be running my half on April 11 along with my husband. I am not sure how I talked my husband into paying to run more than 13 miles but I
did. My goal is less than two hours and ten minutes. I am gonna try to publish weekly about my training. I hope everyone is have good December and enjoying the holiday season.
Well, I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving! My husband and I had dinner with friends. We even went black Friday eve shopping. We didn’t get into really bad crowds either, I got clothes, shoes, and my niece’s Christmas gift. Well I don’t know if I said this before, but I have been working nights for the last few months. So I have a hard time making it to the gym. So, I am going to join a 24 hour gym on Monday. I really want to be able to workout after work which these days is usually around 2a.m.. I am also setting a 60 mile goal for the month of December which is big for me. Oh Christmas tree goes up tomorrow so pictures to come! These are two of my Christmas projects.
So I got to experience what life on the boat is like. I went on my second DET, and it was on the boat. Well I guess the good news that I got from the experience is I don’t get sea sick like some others. This was definitely a different experience than anything else I have ever done. It took a little while to get use to the fact that the boat is almost always rocking. Also things run much different on the boat. I also learned how hard it is to inspect an aircraft at night with a blue light, it is difficult. I did get to sign off my first yankee DT out there I am a real dual qual now. So that is what I have been up too. I don’t want to go out on a MEU, I probably will at some point, at least I know I can handle it. Sorry about the randomness in this post. Have any of you been out on a boat/MEU? What did you think/any tips?
Well I will start off by saying I can’t believe it is already the end of October! So, I said that I went on a DET in august and it was a lot of fun and a huge learning experience. I am about to go on another DET it will be short which is nice only about two weeks, but I will definitely learn what being on the boat will be like. So since my last update I went from day crew to night crew. I love night crew it means longer hours, but it is more chill and I like the people on my shift. I also became a dual qual plane captain, I guess that means I will be working on CDI soon. I talked to my command about putting in an ECP (enlisted to commissioning program) package. I have already started my flight physical and took the ASTB which I am going to retake in January. I will have to submit my package some time in March, which means running another CFT and PFT. Also I finally got a composite score but it is not even close to the cutting score. Well I think that is all for now. Feel free to leave advice on putting in a good package.
Well I haven’t written in a long time. I got to the fleet in March, and that was awesome. I love my job and my unit. I picked up plane Captain ashtray and will be a dual qual soon. I hopefully get an AO syllabus soon which means I will be able to fly. I have already been able to go on my first DET which was awesome. Well that pretty much sums up the last
five and a half months.
